Frequently Asked Questions

Who do you treat?

We treat children, adolescents, and adults with various conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, high-functioning autism, and many more.

Who don’t you treat?

We do not treat patients with active suicidal or homicidal thoughts, active disordered eating, or active substance use or withdrawal.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, including immediate threat to your safety and/or the safety of others, severe side effects to medication, or any other urgent or time-sensitive matter requiring immediate response, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

What should I do before my first appointment?

Please complete the required paperwork in your patient portal and return them to our office at least 2 days prior to your scheduled appointment.

What can I expect for my first appointment?

During your initial diagnostic evaluation, we spend about an hour to get to know you, inquire about your personal history, medical and medication history, and presenting concerns. We will work collaboratively to set treatment goals that are catered to you. You will receive information on your diagnosis, treatment recommendations, and follow-up plan.

Kindly note that the initial diagnostic evaluation does not constitute an ongoing treatment relationship. If clients need a higher level of psychiatric care, we will offer referral resources to other specialized clinicians or treatment programs.

How often will we meet?

The frequency of psychiatric follow-up appointments varies based on individual needs and concerns. Typically, the initial follow-up might occur within a few weeks to assess the effectiveness of the treatment plan. Afterward, the schedule can be adjusted based on progress. In some cases, appointments may be monthly, while others may require less or more frequent check-ins. We will collaborate with you to determine the most suitable follow-up schedule during your course of treatment.

Are all appointments virtual?

Please note that appointments scheduled are virtual by default. Our virtual platform is designed to offer you a secure and efficient means of receiving care from the comfort of your own space. You will receive a HIPAA-compliant video link prior to the scheduled appointment.

Do you take insurance?

We are currently in-network with Quest Behavioral Health, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. If your insurance provider is not listed, payment will be required at the time of service.

For your convenience, we can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. You may also use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to cover the cost of treatment.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please kindly notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. No-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will result in a no-show fee of $100.
